Dear friends, students, parents, teachers
Everybody like to be
super humans or at least the best humans by maximising our potentials.
Identifying our talents and abilities as well as recognizing and overcoming
our limitations are essential for this.
Emotional barriers, personality and adjustment problems are major
hurdles.
As we know there are serious limitations as far as the educational
system and the process is concerned. Are we able to achieve what we want? or are we sure about what we are and what our real aims are?
There are many genuine attempts to change our educational process
and system but along with these developed new problems and challenges.
There are numerous problems-
Added stress on children, parents and to teachers by
- Curriculum
-Demands around
-Wrong teaching learning practices,
-Conflicts and stress in family
-Absence of necessary facilities and many others.
See a concrete example with education department
Kerala and many other states who decided to give support to children with learning disability in 10th class board
exam and 12 the class by providing extra time, providing interpreter or scribe etc..
Obtaining this certificate itself is a hazardous one. These disabled children and parents have to undergo examinations in hospitals and mental hospitals and some times in private clinics. There are chances that they may be exploited.Undeserved managed to get certificates by bribing to get grades in exams.
Disability certificates were issued roughly to about five to ten thousand children
by Psychologists in Kerala state in one year. Approximately ten thousand disabled children get passed in
"good grade".
Please note that this disability doesn't came up in one day or
during exam. These children and parents were going through the stress,
strain and pain of it in each day of their life which is least addressed
and many times unidentified .After passing the exam what they will do? don’t
know what to or how to do? They are not equipped to cope with future demands or
skills needed.
I can describe large number of cases and problems like
these. Can blame the people responsible for all these irregularities. But that
alone will not take us anywhere from this situation.
How to get out of this or cope with it? Is it possible to get out
of our limitations?
Take examples of our leaders and administrators, artists, sportsmen
all of them are not highly qualified and many are not gone through formal
education for various reasons. But they are doing well or capable of resolving
challenges and lead us the so called highly educated people. How is it
possible???
Political and non-political leaders may/may not have
educational/learning disability? But they are performing for us.
All businessmen had not come through formal education but could
reach heights . Talents in various areas are being expressed and performed
irrespective of academic performances.
SO HOW TO REACH HEIGHTS?? HOW TO BREAK OUR PERSONAL LIMITATIONS??
IF FORMAL EDUCATION IS NOT CAPABLE WE CAN HAVE NON FORMAL WAYS TO MOVE UP.
There are individual attempts but if people do it jointly and that
with the help of experts then wonders may be possible.
Let us start small groups to learn new technique to deal with
these problems.
I am offering you a group session call it Group therapy session
for children and adults separately.
Based in Trivandrum starting weekly sessions.
Online sessions are also possible but will have its’ limitations.
There are specific targets and members will be included depending
on the commonality of the problem.
For eg-Learning disabled children -will be provided with training
methods to modify their learning skills like language use ,reading ,writing
ability, communication skills etc.
Emotional barriers, disorders and personality problems can have
therapeutic sessions.
Bye and regards
